Trip Description:
The Spring Canoe Challenge will be a 4-day, 3-night canoe trip through the Adirondack wilderness. Led by four student instructors all certified in wilderness first aid, this course will be free of charge and serve as an opportunity for the participants to enjoy a few days in the outdoors away from their busy school lives.

Scott Morris is a junior at Green Mountain College studying History and Adventure Education. He has been guiding canoe trips in the Adirondacks for the past four summers. When he is not canoeing, Scott enjoys rock and ice climbing, backpacking, photography, and reading. After this course, he is headed down to Peru for a six week high altitude mountaineering expedition. Scott is a Wilderness First Responder.

Kris Belessis is a third year student at Green Mountain College pursuing a BS in Adventure Education and a minor in Psychology. Working as a raft guide on the Sacandaga River and the Hudson River in the Adirondacks almost every day this past summer, Kris loves being on the water and looks forward to the upcoming canoe trip this May. While she enjoys backpacking, canoeing, sea kayaking, and a plethora of other outdoor activities, she still has a passion for team sports such as softball, basketball, and rugby and hopes that she can help her participants to achieve both individual and group success as they partake in an adventure experience with her.

| Andrew O'Neill |
As a junior at Green Mountain College, Andrew is double majoring in Adventure Education and Youth Development & Camp Management. He enjoys the outdoors, and has canoed both in the Adirondack Wilderness and a two week white water trip in the Canadien Wilderness. As he works towards a degree as an outdoor professional, Andrew has a true passion for what he does!

| Sandra Townsend |
Sandra Townsend is currently a senior in the Adventure Education major. Her passions include canoeing, sea kayaking, whitewater kayaking, and telemark skiing. She is a Wilderness First Responder and Registered Maine Guide. She has a background working at a Girl Scout camp in the Maine woods and as a leader in the Green Mountain College Adventure Program leading kayaking and canoeing trips. In the future she hopes to work with college students in an outdoor education program to share her passion for the outdoors.





Wow this trip really does look awesome! I wish I had known about it before hand and been able to sign up. Next year for sure!
